Montessori
Child-led, sensorial, practical
Prepared shelves, real tools, and the freedom to repeat one thing as many times as it takes.
In class
A child pours water between two jugs for most of a morning. Nobody moves them on, because the repetition is the lesson.
Vygotsky
Social, scaffolded, collaborative
What a child can do with help today is what they will do on their own next month.
In class
A teacher holds the base of the tower, then only watches, then sits down. The distance between those three is the method.
Reggio Emilia
Child-directed, expressive, community-centered
Children set the question. Teachers document what happens and hand it back to the class.

One question about where rain goes ran for six weeks, through drawings, a water table and a walk to the drain outside.
